Geography Week of May 7-11
This week the student are completing the Created a Culture project.
They should be ready to begin presenting their cultures to the class on Wed or Thurs.

This week our focus is on Rome.
We will use the Usborne: Roman class resource book to get an overview of this time period.
We will also tap into Youtube to watch a National Geographic short about the Romans.
Students will be watching two 50 min. BBC docu-dramas about gladiators and the volcanic eruption in Pompeii.
A video note/study guide in the gladiator video and reading will be handed out Day 2.
A quiz will be given on Day 1 of next week.

World History Week of May 1-May 4
Day 1 and Day 2
Students are using their English skills as they write an epitaph for Leonidas, one of the king's of Sparta during the year 480 BC.
They will also be designing a tombstone to write the epitaph on.
This is an in class assignment. It is due Day 2 unless otherwise indicated.
Students have prepared for this assignment in class. They have read and discussed four tips to writing an epitaph. They have also read examples that the tips apply to.
Students have been provide with a rubric.
Materials needed include a pencil, colored pencils, a ruler and a sharpie.
